Biography

After my momma & daddy were told they would probably never be able to
have children, the were ecstatic to find out they were pregnant with me in
February 2011. The pregnancy was complicated and Momma spent 17 weeks on
bedrest, even after being told three times that I wasn't going to make it to
viability.

I was born at barely 24 weeks - in the hospital hallway on the way to an
emergency c-section, and breech, no less! I weighed a tiny 1-lb 9-oz and was
13-in long. I fought for my life for a long time while I worked hard to gain
every precious ounce. I was in the NICU for 3.5 months and battled respiratory
issues and retinopathy of prematurity.

After I was discharged to go home, I was quickly diagnosed with severe GERD
(reflux) and a dairy allergy. Momma & Daddy worked hard to find a formula that I
could tolerate. In the midst of all my vomiting issues, I decided it wasn't
worth it to keep eating and I had to go back into the hospital at 6 months old.
I ended up being diagnosed with a complete oral aversion and failure to thrive.
I had to have surgery to place a g-tube, and even though I've been in feeding
therapy ever since, I am still 100% tube dependent. I had surgery to place a
stent in my eye to help heal an infected tear-duct. I have weekly physical
therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and I am working to overcome
a possible speech-apraxia diagnosis.

Through all of my trials, I remain a happy, fun-loving baby, and I am the light
of my Momma & Daddy's life. They can't imagine life without me!
