Biography
Caleb was born a seemingly healthy baby. Around 4 months old we noticed he wouldn't use his left hand. At his well visit the family doctor told us he was showing early hand preference. By his 1 year well visit, he was unable to sit on his own, he couldn't crawl, or bear weight on his legs. He was referred to a Neurologist for an MRI which showed a stroke had damaged roughly 50% of his right hemisphere. He was diagnosed with left hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

> Around the age of 6 he presented with Myoclonic seizures. At the age of 8 he was diagnosed with epilepsy.Since then he has developed multiple seizure types. He is on 4 different medications, and his last test showed he was still seizing multiple times a day, each lasting 7-9 minutes.In February 2013 he was officially diagnosed with Intractable Epilepsy (medicine resistant). He is now facing the only thing the doctors think can stop his seizures. A Hemisoherotomy, also known as a functional hemispherectomy. The surgeon will do multiple tests to ensure that he is a perfect candidate, and most likely he will have the surgery sometime this spring/summer. A hemispherotomy is where the surgeon will take part or all of his temporal lobe, and then he will disconnect the right side of his brain from his left. It is a radical procedure, but has been proven effective in treating his specific seizure types.

Once there click on the link "database" on the right to view the children and their patterns. Once you find a pattern that you want to stitch and have confirmed it is not already being stitched you may return to the sign up form, fill it in and submit it.
