Biography

Amy was born on Dec 18 2001. She was a seemingly healthy child. When she was two and a half we noticed she seemed to limp. So we took her to the doctor. He had xrays done and the bone specialist said her bones were fine to see a Neurologist. The Neurologist ordered an MRI because he believed she had Cereabral Palsy. We got the call that changed our lifes on Sept 21st 2004. Our little girl had a brain tumor.
> The next day we were in Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia to talk about our options. They didnt think we had any. They told us chemo wouldnt work and the tumor was inoperable. Radiation would only prolong her life. A week after the first MRI they took another MRI that made the doctors think it may still be this aweful tumor that would definatly kill her OR it may be one that would respond to the treatment. So we did radiation. 6 weeks, every monday through friday. And a month and a half after the treatments were comepleted by the grace of God we found out that the tumor shrunk over eighty percent. The tumor continued to shrink each MRI until nothing showed on the MRIs anymore.
> We went in Dec 2012 for a routine eight year MRI and found out that her tumor has started growing again. Because of the amount of radiation and the delicate spot where she got the radiation (the brainstem) she is no longer able to recieve any more. So the doctors tried to remove what they could of the tumor (about 50%). They couldnt remove any more due to where the tumor is. The tumor is wrapped up in the nerves that control swallowing and breathing.
> So now we are going to start chemotherapy and pray it stops this awful tumor from growing. Amy will start Chemo Feb 28th 2013 for 60 weeks. We will travel two hours to the hospital and back once a week every Thursday. We know God is with us and we are putting our trust in him.
